Better Speller ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Better Speller does not collect any personal information. All data you create in the app (word lists, practice sessions, scores, and settings) is stored exclusively on your device using local device storage. Nothing is transmitted to us or any third party.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is saved locally on your device only:

• Word lists and individual words you create or import
• Practice and test session results (scores, dates, word outcomes)
• App settings (word order, number of attempts, voice preference)
• Achievement progress

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it (for example, using the Share button to send a session summary via your device's sharing options).

3. Third-Party Services

Better Speller does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking services. The app does not contain any SDKs that collect or share data.

The app uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine to read words aloud. This processing happens entirely on-device.

4. Permissions

Better Speller may request the following device permissions:

• Storage / Files: required only if you choose to import a word list from a file on your device. No files are read without your action.

No other permissions are required or requested.

5. Children's Privacy

Better Speller is designed to be safe for users of all ages, including children. Because we do not collect any personal information, the app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations. No data about children or anyone else is ever collected or shared.

6. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app. You can also delete individual word lists from within the app.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
